Favorite Kitchen Cleaning Products

Now that I am a mom I have been way more cautious of the cleaning products I use. I look for non-toxic and naturally derived products. There are two brands that I use and LOVE! I'm sure you can guess them, yup, that's right Method products and Mrs. Meyers products. Before I had my son I could care less about what ingredients were in my cleaners until my mother in law started bringing the dangers of certain ingredients to my attention. It didn't take long before I had thrown away every product in my house and replaced them with non-toxic products. So let's start talking about exactly which products I use and love.

The basic replacement was my hand soap. I had normally used the bath and body works hand soap, which don't get me wrong they all smelled amazing! I have replaced that with Mrs. Meyers lavender hand soap. My husband is obsessed with the lavender scent and this company didn't let him down. It smells sooo good!

Lysol all purpose cleaner was replaced with Method Antibac all purpose cleaner. I was worried about losing the antibacterial properties of Lysol, but then I found the Method antibac cleaner at my local grocery store which I was surprisingly unaware of. Before purchasing the antibac version I was buying the Method all purpose cleaner that was not antibacterial. I will say I do enjoy the smell of the Method cleaner a lot more than Lysol. The Method cleaner is a great product and it does work well!

Now as far as the granite cleaner, that was a tough one! Granite can be a bit of a pain to clean and get the right outcome. A lot of cleaners leave a cloudy film over the granite which I absolutely hate! I was actually using Windex before I tried the Method Granite cleaner in Honeycrisp Apple. This cleaner actually leaves my granite so shiny and smooth with out any of that cloudy film look, if you know what I mean. Did I mention that these cleaners seriously smell amazing!

Dish soap. Dish soap was a tough one to want to switch up. Dawn dish soap works so well and I haven't heard or read anything bad about it, but I decided to switch to Mrs. Meyers dish soap in the lemon scent. Surprisingly it works just as well as Dawn if not maybe a little better (shhh)! It is also very moisturizing on my hands which is a definite plus in my books.

I was previously using Swiffer mops on my wood floors- I have read so many articles about Swiffer products killing dogs so I could only imagine how many harsh chemicals are in those products. I have just recently discovered the Method wood cleaner. I just use a typical mop and this cleaner and it seems to be working pretty well. It does what every other floor cleaner does, it cleans my floors. It actually leaves my floors really shiny with out feeling sticky. No, but really this is honestly the best floor cleaner i've tried. No joke. The scent I have is almond and let me tell you, it smells so good!!

I almost forgot to mention to clean my sink and garbage disposal I use Doterra Lemon essential oil and it works fantastically. When flu season hits (like right now) I will use my On Guard cleaner from Doterra. It is an essential oil based cleanser that kills any germs and prevents sickness. I mainly use this to clean all of my sons toys because at this age everything is going in his mouth and that's one less thing I have to worry about.

Well, that's about it. That's all the products I use in the kitchen. Let me know which products you love or are wanting to try!
